Where the money goes
A meaningful share of the profits from every collection goes straight to charity. Each of us — Luke, Jack and Mark — got to pick our own charity for the year, so all three causes below mean something personal to one of us. We'll choose again next year, so the charities we support will change every year as we grow up and learn about more people doing good work in our community.
Charity #1
Strand Beach is a big part of our community, but it can also be dangerous. Along the 4.3km stretch of beach, too many children drown or nearly drown, and the lifeguards are often expected to protect everyone without enough funding or the right equipment to reach people quickly. We want to help them get better support, because when someone is in trouble in the water, every second matters.
Charity #2
Imibala Trust helps children our own age who have not had the same opportunities we have. They give underprivileged children practical support, skills, confidence and chances to grow. We think they do amazing work, and we like the idea that clutter from one home can be turned into something that helps another child build a better future.
Charity #3
Ronald McDonald House Charities helped our family when our sister was in the children's hospital. They made it possible for our Mom and Dad to stay close to her while she was receiving care. We know from personal experience how much that matters, and we want to help other families stay close to their children when they need them most.
