Is clutter collection really free?+
Yes — free anywhere in our service area (Somerset West, Strand, Gordon's Bay, wider Helderberg and Stellenbosch). We make our money from onward sales, not from you.
How is clutter different from junk?+
Clutter is stuff that still has life in it — furniture, homeware, toys, books, décor. We sort it into resale, donations to local charities, and safe recycling. Truly broken items go on our (paid) Junk service instead.
When do you run Clutter collections?+
We run scheduled Clutter routes across the Helderberg every week. When you book, we'll come back on WhatsApp with the next available slot that suits you — usually within a few days.
Do you charge if the load is big?+
No — Clutter stays free. For a full house, garage or estate clearance please mention it up front so we can plan the trailer and route accordingly.
Do I need to be home when you collect?+
Not necessarily. If the items are on the driveway, in the garage or in a spot you can describe on WhatsApp, we'll photograph the load, send it to you, and be on our way. Most collections happen without the owner needing to lift a finger.
Can I request a specific charity to receive resale profits?+
The three brothers each pick a charity for the year (rotating annually), and profits flow to those. If you have a Helderberg cause close to your heart, tell us — we love adding options to next year's rotation.
What happens to items that can't be resold?+
We split them: usable but low-value goes to Helderberg charity shops and shelters, e-waste goes to a certified recycler, and only genuinely dead items (broken, wet, unsafe) end up at the correct disposal facility. Landfill is always the last resort.
Do you clear estates or downsizing moves?+
Yes — this is one of the reasons we started. We work respectfully at the family's pace, keep anything sentimental aside for you to review, and can coordinate with an estate attorney or the buyer of the property. See our Estate Clearance page for a gentler walk-through.
